In celebration of the 82nd edition of the legendary Bol d'Or Mirabaud, the seven TF35s made their grand debut in the biggest lake regatta in the world. Helmed by Yann Guichard, the crew of Spindrift comprised Yann Jauvin, François Morvan, Duncan Späth, Antoine Rucard and Jules Bidegaray. Following a light airs start, which benefitted the Archimedean multihulls like the M2s and the famous D35s, the foilers latched onto some favourable gusts to take the lead at the midway mark in the race, at Le Bouveret.
The drop down to Geneva then saw an upset at the entrance to the small lake. Indeed, the fading breeze offered a fresh start to the leaders of the fleet, which included the seven TF35s. It wasn’t until nightfall though that a favourable breeze gave these crews the edge and they completed this 82nd edition with a nocturnal finish in front of the Société Nautique de Genève. After 12hr51 of racing, Spindrift took sixth place, just 104 seconds shy of the winner, Ylliam XII Comptoir Immobilier.
