Her history
A one-design flying catamaran
Designed by Martin Fischer according to an idea by Laurent Lenne, the GC32 is a 10-metre one-design catamaran (12 metres including the bowsprit), capable of getting airborne in upwards of 8 knots of breeze. This carbon dragonfly deftly outpunches the prize fighters of global racing in arenas that are just as likely to be located in the open ocean as on some of the most wonderful lakes in Europe. Equipped with ‘L’-shaped foils and ‘T’-shaped rudders, the GC32 quickly reaches 25 knots, with possible bursts of speed in excess of 35. Suffice to say that you don’t need to be an expert to be absolutely blown away by the sight of these boats in poise dozens of centimetres above the water.
