Best performance
Certainly, one of the most promising sailors of his generation, the Australian Jackson Bouttell is a determined young man. At 17, when his family emigrated back to Australia from the UK, he made the decision to stay in Hamble and break into the offshore racing scene with the aim of one day getting himself on to the start line of the Vendée Globe. He learnt his skills by working in a variety of boatyards and sailmakers as well as sailing, before he joined the Artemis Academy in 2013 and, in the same year, won the rookie ranking in the Solitaire du Figaro. After a couple more years on the Figaro circuit, he also had his first experience in the Volvo Ocean Race with Dongfeng Race Team in 2015, a win and a record in 2016 on the Quebec-Saint Malo alongside Dona and Yann on the maxi trimaran Spindrift 2. He was part of the winning team onboard Dongfeng on the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-2018.
Intrepid and brave, Jackson will invest all his talent and dynamism into the round the world crew.
